Arabia Arctica Poetica Coffee Cup White Saucer 0,15 l, Vintage

Poetica (poetic) decoration features spring flowers, pink and orange tulips and yellow flowers with green leaves - all made by screen printing. This decoration is beautiful and painterly, and brings to mind a summer garden. Dorrit von Fieandt's designs are often inspired by her garden: ""As the days become darker in the autumn, the garden begins to bloom in my pottery."

Arctica decorations brought a new rational thinking to design. Instead of designing new and expensive dishes, the designers wanted to make decorations for models already in production. These colourful decorations are designed to be combined with the white Arctica dishes, as “food for the eyes”.

The Arabia Arctica model was inspired by the idea of making dishes that feel lovely to the touch. Holding one, you can really notice how the soft round edges are designed to feel pleasant against the hands and mouth. These dishes are like holding delicate and precious birds’ eggs. This model by Inkeri Leivo is one of Arabia Finland’s most bought series and has been in production since 1979. It was Arabia’s first vitro porcelain series, safe for oven, microwave, and dishwasher. It is also a very popular wedding present.

A set of a cup and a saucer for hot drinks. Usually used for serving coffee- or espresso-based drinks but also hot chocolate or tea. Please note that this cup has a white saucer.

These beautiful coffee cups are in good condition. There are still some minor imperfections, such as tiny bubbles, pinholes or darker dots on the glazing. There might be a small flaw on the print. The additional photos show examples.
