The Pentik ceramics factory is the northernmost in the world. It is situated near the Arctic Circle in Posio, Finland. The company was founded in 1971 as Anu Pentik's enthusiasm for ceramics and leather crafts was noticed. The ceramics factory started its operation in 1974.

The first series, Hiisi, was designed by Risto Paatero in 1973. Hiisi was given it's finishing touches by a former designer at Arabia factory, Peter Winquist. He worked as the Art director in Pentik 1974 -1983.

Even today Pentik-mäki is a cultural destination and a tourist attraction with its factory store, museum, exhibition and café, covering a total area of 2,500 square metres.
