Hyrrä (a spinning top) is series of turn mould-blown flower vases.

Hyrrä was designed by Riihimäen Lasi's most famous designer Helena Tynell in 1959. She is noted for her artistic nordic design glass bottles and vases, such as the famous Aurinkopullo.

Tynell is appreciated for her refined sense of colour and ability to create imaginative shaped vases, that complemented and made the flowers stand out. Riihimäen Lasi Hyrrä vases were popular in the 1960s, because of their lively and unusual form and colours.

A classic mid-century modern statement piece.

Riihimäen Lasi was produced glass in 6 basic colours including: clear, yellow, grass green, cobalt blue, violet, and brown. In addition they produced countless small batches of greens, blues, turquoises, purples, and rare colours such as black and red. The tones of each colour batch could differ slightly from the next, making each glass feel special and unique.

Nowadays these delicate vintage vases are rare collectibles.
