Launo, the name of the bag style, has its origins in a comic by Lars Jansson called The Inspector’s Nephew. Launo is the nephew of the police inspector of Moominvalley, a nephew who has contributed to a lot of confusion by arresting the inhabitants of Moominvalley for utterly trivial reasons.

Launo bags are rectangular, smallish tote bags that are made of durable cotton canvas. The bag features a press stud fastener, durable pink handles and an inside pocket with snap closure. A Moomin badge is visible on the bag’s side seam.
