Solaris (Sun) decoration is made from thick mould-pressed glass. This type of glass refracts light the same way as crystal, so it has a brilliant sparkle. Mould-pressed glass is also wonderfully strong and practical, made with everyday use in mind. A speciality of vintage Finnish glass is the lovely surface patterns, which are really enjoyable to hold and touch with your fingers.
