Salla (an arctic hill in Finnish Lappland, a female given name) features grey and white stripes on a base of soft gray coloured stoneware mass. The pastel colour palette has understated elegance and a beautiful glow. This Nordic vintage design has a soft and calm atmosphere, like winter in Finland.
The subtle grey stripe shifts between tones of green and blue depending on the lighting. The stripes create a watercolour-like effect, which brings variation and liveliness to an otherwise simple pattern. The hand-painting gives an authentic artisanal feel to this Nordic vintage series.
Arabia Salla was designed by Raija Uosikkinen in the 1970s for Ulla Procope's popular S-model.
A jug or a bowl for serving sauce, dressing or gravy.
You can serve sauce or gravy directly from the oven or microwave oven to the table and even keep it in a refrigerator. When serving hot food, you can easily use the matching series bread plates under the bowls.
This practical sauceboat is in good vintage condition. There are a few tiny bubbles on the glazing and some tiny dark dots. The additional photos show examples.
