Window in the Forest, Ikkuna metsässä, was designed by Heljä Liukko-Sundström. Only a limited edition was produced.
Heljä Liukko Sundström hand-painted beautiful and poetic ceramic plates at the Arabia Art Department in the 1970s. Heljä felt that her mission as a designer is to bring joy, comfort and cheerfulness to people. She wanted create ceramic artworks telling a story and produce them in a way, that anyone could afford them. After countless experiments, a method was developed by which an image based on a unique artwork was successfully transferred to a ceramic plate in a single firing. Kaj Franck named the method ceramic graphics. This is how Heljä's success story of decorative ceramic plates of different sizes and shapes began. Heljä's ceramic stories typically feature homes, families, Finnish nature and courtyards with animals and plants. She also loves flowers and creates various colourful flower bouquets.
