Vaskooli (a pan used in gold washing) is a series of delicate glass with beautifully rounded edges and acid-etched frosted stripes. There is also a cobalt blue version of this series.

Nuutajärvi Vaskooli's design evokes the pure cold streams of Karelia and Lapland, which are still famous for the gold found in its crystal clear waters. The frosted glass adds to this lovely refreshing effect.

The design is an excellent example of designer Oiva Toikka's experimental approach to glass. It has an interesting and relatively rare production method called centrifugal casting. It is made by pouring molten glass into a spinning mould, which results in beautiful curves, extremely symmetric shapes, and thin edges. This extremely high-quality technique is even used to make telescope lenses.

Plates of this size are most used in serving small salty courses, like pie, sandwiches, or salad.
