Heini (female given name) The decoration is inspired by nature and refers to the heinä, hay. The edges of the dish are surrounded by a stylized blue-gray row of dandelion seeds like arrows pointing towards the center of the dish. Designed by Raija Uosikkinen, Heini was awarded a gold medal in 1961 at the Sacramento Fair in the United States as a high-quality tableware decoration. The copperplate print is protected by glaze.
A luncheon plate or a side plate is often used in sets with teacups. Plates of this size are most used in serving small salty courses, like pie, sandwiches, or salad.
There are some minor imperfections on these vintage plates. There might be a few tiny dark dots and the printed decoration might be a bit imprecise. These plates are still in good condition, they show minor signs of wear and a few small scratches. The additional photos show examples.
