Arabia Verkko Plate 19,5 cm, Vintage

Verkko (a net or web) is the name of several slightly different decorations, which feature thin stripes in a grid formation. This Verkko decoration by Raija Uosikkinen features yellow and warm reddish-brown stripes, which are very beautifully and delicately hand-painted.

Arabia Verkko has a lovely traditional chequered pattern that feels very playful. It is almost like a picnic cloth, which will really complement sandwiches, cakes, and other small bites. It is perfect for creating table settings with a relaxed and carefree atmosphere. The lovely colours make this design versatile for the seasons.

A luncheon plate or a side plate is often used in sets with teacups. Plates of this size are most used in serving small salty courses, like pie, sandwiches, or salad.

There are some minor imperfections on these hand-painted plates. The glazing is a bit uneven, there might be a few tiny dark dots, bubbles, pinholes or dents. The hand-painted stripes might be soft at the edges. These plates are still in good condition, they show no signs of wear.
