Ruusu (rose) is a decoration with a handsome dark red rose and leaves. This bold rose was designed by artist Anneli Qveflander for Arabia in 1958. Qveflander is known as a set and costume designer for Finnish opera and theatre.
At the time, Kaj Franck was head of model design at the Arabia art department. He preferred minimal designs, but many customers still desired flower decorations on their coffee cups. So Franck came up with the idea of a large and handsome contemporary design to counterbalance the pretty little flower decorations.
60 years later, Arabia Ruusu still stands out from other decorations. It is a favourite of many Finnish mothers. We recommend hand washing for this delicate porcelain coffee set.
A delightful gift or wedding present. A superb choice for any special occasion.
A set of a cup and a saucer for hot drinks. Usually used for serving coffee- or espresso-based drinks but also hot chocolate or tea. Beautiful coffee cups are popular as gifts. They fit well for both a hurry-free everyday and celebrations. Many collect these cups for their diverse decorations and for the fact they don't take up much space and look cute even on a shelf.
These beautiful coffee cups are in good condition. There are some minor imperfections, such as a few tiny lumps, bubbles or dark dots on the glazing.
There is no stamp on some of the cups. It is original production by Arabia, but it was classified as class 2 quality at the factory and not stamped, because of small flaws made in production. It is still usable for any table setting.
