Arabia Rosmarin Bowl 18 cm, Vintage

Rosmarin (rosemary, a herb) features hand-painted flowers, leaves and stripes in a beautifully warm reddish brown tone.

The highlight of this design is the artful and calligraphic brush-strokes, which have required extreme skill. Arabia was indeed much admired for the talent of its ceramic painters. The hand-painted nature of the pattern makes each dish excitingly unique and the colours shift in tone from pale watercolour washes to deep and luxurious tones. This change in colours give the simple design an exciting illusion of three-dimensionality and depth.

This Nordic vintage design and decoration were both made by the same artist, Ulla Procopé. The decoration was also made in blue under the name Anemone.

A bowl is a round, open-top container to serve hot and cold food. You can use it for serving soup, salad, yogurt or as a mixing bowl. Traditional tableware included 1-3 serving bowls of various sizes. They are delightful eye-catching items, even when used individually. The bowls can be used for both preparing food and display.

Heat-resistant oven dish or a small casserole, suitable for cooking food in an oven. You can serve it directly from the oven to the table and even keep it in a refrigerator.

This beautiful bowl is in good condition. There are however some minor imperfections: the glazing is a slightly uneven and it has a few tiny lumps or bubbles, and some tiny black dots.
