Ruska (autumn colours, brown) is one of the most beautiful words in the Finnish language, meaning autumn colour. The design has a calm and relaxed atmosphere, which brings to mind autumn evenings camping or sitting by a cozy fire.
The rustic and earthy look defines this extremely popular series. Ruska’s rugged surface was created with an unusual decorating method: powdered black iron was sprayed to a matte glazing, giving each piece a slightly unique artisanal and smoky look. The colour of the glazing shifts in tone from paler to more deep tones. This change in colours gives the design a rustic feel.
Ruska is currently one of the most popular vintage designs we have. The original 1:st class production of Ruska series was stamped partly on top of the glaze and it often has worn away in use. That is why the stamped Ruska dishes are more rare. This series always sells out quickly, so we recommend you click the “Add to Wishlist” -button to be first to know when new stock arrives!
A set of a cup and a saucer for hot drinks. Usually used for serving tea, but also hot chocolate or coffee with milk. Did you know that Finnish vintage teacups are actually rarer than the coffee cups? This why they are also more valuable.
