Arabia Mother's Cup 1982, Vintage

Mother's Cup (Äidin kuppi) was designed by Heljä Liukko Sundström in 6 different variations during 1977-1982. They became popular gifts and collectables for mothers. In the decoration, Heljä used the themes she loved: mothers, children, flowers, soft sheep and home.

The color scheme in these hand-painted cups follows the harmony of nature: green, brown and blue. A fair-sized yet delicate cup warms hands and brings a homey rest to the mothers busy day. Their homeliness matches well with wooden interiors.

A set of a cup and a saucer for hot drinks. Usually used for serving tea, but also hot chocolate or coffee with milk. Did you know that Finnish vintage teacups are actually rarer than the coffee cups? This why they are also more valuable.
