Nuutajärvi Ruuturiritari Amethyst Pitcher 1,0 l, Vintage

Ruuturitari (Knight of diamonds) is a design of small repeating squares made as mould-pressed glass. This nordic vintage glass series was designed by Finnish design icon Kaj Franck in the 1960s.

Nuutajärvi Ruuturitari has a fun chequered design, which feels relaxing and rhythmical. It's highlight is the surface, which feels so lovely to the touch. The relief allows you to have a strong firm grip on this delicate glass, which feels very safe and confident.

Ruuturitari was originally made only in clear glass. Later clear and two coloured versions, blue and amethyst, were made as custom order for some Finnish department stores. Amethyst coloured neodymium glass changes it's hue depending on the lighting, making this series lovely and versatile for casual daily use and parties.

A Jug/pitcher is a vessel for serving water, iced tea, juice or beer and other cold drinks at mealtime. You can also use it for serving liquid cold seasoning, or as a vase for flowers.
