Arabia Nyyrikki Plate 23,5 cm, Vintage

Nyyrikki (an old male given name) refers to a spirit or god in Finnish mythology that guards, helps and protects hunters in the woods. It is a hand-painted ornament with round shapes resembling plums in blue and olive green, between blue stripes. Because of the hand-paint and a short production time (only 2 years), the series is rare. Hand-painting is designed to be rough, to ensure the handicraft feeling in the dishes.

A plate for a main course, often used as a dinner plate. This is usually a flat plate type.

There are some imperfections on these beautiful plates: some visible spots of paint, scratches and bubbles on the glazing. Please see the additional photo for an example.
