Nyyrikki (an old male given name) refers to a spirit or god in Finnish mythology that guards, helps and protects hunters in the woods. It is a hand-painted ornament with round shapes resembling plums in blue and olive green, between blue stripes. Because of the hand-paint and a short production time (only 2 years), the series is rare. Hand-painting is designed to be rough, to ensure the handicraft feeling in the dishes.
A plate mainly for soup, that can also be used as a bowl for breakfast, pasta, rice or side dishes. These multi-purpose traditional deep plates have a decorative edge that beautifully frames the food. The wide edge makes it easy to pass around the dishes and supports cutlery. For this reason, the deep plate also serves as a beautiful serving dish, for example salads. Thanks to the edge the plate is firmly seated on drying racks.
There are some imperfections on these beautiful plates: some visible spots of paint and the precision of the hand painting is not perfect, but they are in very good condition. Please see the additional photo for an example.
