Nyyrikki (an old male given name) refers to a spirit or god in Finnish mythology that guards, helps and protects hunters in the woods. It is a hand-painted ornament with round shapes resembling plums in blue and olive green, between blue stripes. Because of the hand-paint and a short production time (only 2 years), the series is rare. Hand-painting is designed to be rough, to ensure the handicraft feeling in the dishes.
A set of a cup and a saucer for hot drinks. Usually used for serving tea, but also hot chocolate or coffee with milk. Did you know that Finnish vintage teacups are actually rarer than the coffee cups? This why they are also more valuable.
There are some imperfections in these rare and beautiful cups. Some marks of usage: scratches and some spots of paint and bubbles on the glazing. Please see the photos.
