Nyyrikki (an old male given name) refers to a spirit or god in Finnish mythology that guards, helps and protects hunters in the woods. It is a hand-painted ornament with round shapes resembling plums in blue and olive green, between blue stripes. Because of the hand-paint and a short production time (only 2 years), the series is rare. Hand-painting is designed to be rough, to ensure the handicraft feeling in the dishes.
A luncheon plate or a side plate for appetizers, salads, dessert, or bread and butter. Used for sets with teacups. Plates of this size are most used in serving small salty courses, like pie, sandwich cake, or salad.
There are some imperfections on these beautiful plates: some visible spots of paint, and some uneven parts in the hand painted decoration.
